Fire Extinguisher Requirements

Depending on your method of food preparation, you may be required to bring your own fire extinguisher. Please see requirements below. Representatives from Columbus Division of Fire will be on-site to ensure compliance for a safe and fun event.

To deep fry, an extinguisher with a K rating is required.

To use propane, or other flammable combustible gas, an extinguisher with a B rating is required.

As an outdoor event, Taste the Future has limited access to electricity, so we encourage you to find alternate methods of preparing. Know you need electric to serve your best bites? Fill out and submit the completed form below by July 14. If the request form is incomplete, we may not be able to accommodate your request. Email questions to Lori, dgage1@cscc.edu.

Looking to Reduce Your Need for Electricity?

Use alternative warming methods, like sterno, or propane.

Choose menu items that do not need to be cooked or heated on-site.

There is a limit of 2 outlets per partner. We are only able to accommodate the use of 120v/ 20amp devices. Please list the electrical requirements in the table below including volts, hertz, and watts. Electrical details are typically found on the back or bottom of your equipment, as shown below:
